Somewhere along the way, a lot of us got very good at being sensible. We learned how to show up, handle things, keep it together, say the right thing, and generally behave like women who know what the hell they’re doing.
Which is useful. It can also get a little fucking boring.
These days, I’m much more interested in what makes us light up. What makes us laugh until our sides hurt, get curious about something completely unnecessary, say yes to the weird idea, and remember how good it feels when life surprises us.
That’s the territory I like: fun, mischief, stories, and the occasional terrible idea that somehow becomes the best part of the night.
My talks are funny, personal, irreverent, and very human. Nobody is leaving with a shinier version of herself or a laminated seven-step system. I’d lose interest by step three, and frankly, so would you.
WOMEN WHO REFUSE TO BEHAVE
How to Put the Magic, Mischief & Holy-Fuck Moments Back Into Your Life
Something started happening when I began posting my sarcastic little morning thoughts and ridiculous Missions online. Women started tagging friends, making plans, sending them around, and telling me how long it had been since they’d done something simply because it sounded fun.
I noticed. Obviously.
Because women don’t need another damn project. We have enough of those. What we could use is a reason to laugh harder, get curious again, call a friend, follow a weird idea, make a bigger deal out of something small, and every once in a while say, “Oh fuck it, let’s go.”
That’s what Women Who Refuse to Behave is about.
You can have your shit together and still be ridiculous. Still be curious. Still do things just because they sound fun.
I’m not here to inspire you. I’m here to get you in trouble.
I don’t want women leaving here thinking, I really should work on myself.
I want them pulling out their phones and texting somebody:
“I have a ridiculous idea. Are you free Saturday?”
